Because of the change of my company structure, my job now requires me to interview people. My boss set a very clear objective for me: Hire and development 4 application specialist.   Struggled for more than 3 months for lack of IT candidate,  finally last week i completed part of my mission by hiring 5  fresh graduates to fill up the vacancy  in the team..

I have seen candidates with 5-6 years experience yet the resume is not impressive at all.. I interviewed candidates with 2-3 years experiences and have changed 2-3 jobs..  And finally, the long waited fresh graduates whom just completed their final year exam...

Despite of asking them what they have done in their  final year project and make sure their passionate in programming, I spent some time to share with them how they should plan and set a target for themselves in at least 2-3 years time.

I always believe Fresh Graduates are like young bamboo that can be shaped nicely.. Nowadays I see alot of young people, after working for a few years, they are no longer in a proper 'shape'.. What they did to their life is ENJOY, COMPLAINT and ASK FOR MORE.. I hope none of my friends fall into the category as this direction won't lead you to where you want to go in the future..

I hope to allocate more time in my daily roles to develop the fresh graduates and slowly build up a strong team. Seriously i wanted to develop them like how my ex-manager groomed me to be what i am today. I see fire in fresh graduates... Before the bad environment or culture put off their fire,  I hope i can do my best to let their fire continue to burn on...

People build up the country.. While we always complain about the inefficiency government, the slow development of the country, do we ever think that we are part of the country that has direct contribution to the development of the country?  Does anyone wonder how Korea has achieved its remarkable record of economic growth in such a short time?  Compare their people with ours!
